Filming and photography
Please be advised that the Scottish Book Trust will be filming at two of our public events on Thursday 27th September. These are clearly noted in the relevant event details. Our festival photographers will also be taking pictures for us throughout the festival. Permission will be sought at the time; please inform us if you object to any of these images being reproduced.
We are putting on a free shuttle bus from Bowmore to our events in Portnahaven, Port Charlotte and Port Ellen. This is operated on a first-come basis as seats are limited (only 16 in total). Priority will be given to those with mobility problems. Sponsored by the Islay & Jura Community Bus.
Car sharing is also encouraged where travel to events is necessary; please do contact us in advance if there is an event you would like to attend but will have difficulty getting there and we’ll see if we can pair you up with someone.
Each adult session lasts approx. 1 hour, with an extra 15 mins allowed for Q&A, unless otherwise specified. Children’s events usually last up to 45 minutes. Book signings take place after each event.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer crèche facilities. Parents must accompany children under 8 at all times.
Cafaidh Blasta at the Gaelic College will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 29th September serving teas, coffees, light refreshments and lunch. All venues have parking available and disabled access and facilities (with the exception of the Round Church, which currently has no disabled toilet). Please contact us in advance if you will require any assistance.
Books are on sale at our book stall and at each event.
