Our 2019 festival offers a star-studded line-up from the Scottish and UK literary scenes, and more besides!
The authors making their way to Islay and Jura this year include:
Sir Tom Devine
As always, our festival will also draw in local authors and for the first time we will have an international writer in residence working on a project in Scottish Gaelic and contributing to our programme.
Under the overall theme of ‘change’, this year offers the best in crime writing and contemporary fiction, historical fiction and non-fiction, cookery and poetry, illustration and children’s fiction. We will also be celebrating Islay's history and heritage and the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
Details of our 2019 festival will be uploaded soon, when confirmed.
In the meantime, take a look at last year’s programme (download PDF here) for a taste of what’s to come!
Please note we also have a very active schools programme that takes place each year on the Thursday and Friday of our festival. We also offer author visits to Gortanvogie Care Home. These events are not included in our programme as they are not open to the public.
