In this family-friendly event for all ages, Dr Ken MacTaggart describes the stunning experience of weightlessness and viewing the Earth from 200 miles up, a mind-altering perspective which turned many astronauts into artists and writers.
From the Space Age and the history of spaceflight to the changing careers of astronauts and the future prospects of space tourism, Ken will walk us through the science of space with the aid of a slideshow, photography and some fun demonstrations. Questions will be invited on anything space-related!
Ken MacTaggart is the author of Haynes' Astronaut Owners' Workshop Manual featuring some fantastic photography from astronauts Tim Peake and Helen Sharman.
Hosted by Helen Sedgwick.
