Pauline Prior-Pitt: Poetry in Performance

  • Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle, Bowmore PA43 7LN United Kingdom (map)

Pauline Prior-Pitt, an award-winning poet from North Uist, offers a lively and engaging poetry performance as she reads from a selection of her poems covering themes of island life, growing older, and from Be An Angel, her recently published anthology of poems for and about women.

As actress Maureen Lipman says, “Her poetry is wry, accessible and achingly funny. There is scarcely a line I don’t identify with ... Everyone needs a Pauline Prior-Pitt on their bookshelves."

Pauline will also reveal the result of her ‘Islay Poetry Challenge’, a real-time composition for Islay that will take place over the festival weekend based on word contributions from the public! To contribute a word to the Islay poem, tweet @IslayBookFest using the hashtag #IslayPoetryChallenge.

Hosted by Asif Khan, Director of the Scottish Poetry Library. This event is also sponsored by the Scottish Poetry Library.

Tickets are available on the door or book online here:
