What's happening this year?
This year we're bringing you a fantastic range of events, author sessions and family gatherings. Whether you're a weathered book lover adding to your collection or a toddler still teething on the corners, there's something for everyone at Islay Book Festival 2017. Please remember that some events may sell out fast, so don't hang around when booking your place.
Refreshments: Cafe Blasta will be open from 10.00am to 3.30pm at the Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle, our main base in Bowmore, to offer light refreshments over the festival weekend. There will also be some stalls open to the public for browsing and purchases: book stalls (selling our authors' books and some by local authors), bookbinding stall (hand-made books and repairs will be on offer), literacy information stall, and our book festival information table/ticket office.
Facilities: Car parking, toilets, and disabled access are available at all venues, unless otherwise stated.
Tickets: Tickets can either be booked in advance through Eventbrite (links are provided in the information for each event) or they can be bought on the door on the day of the event. See our full booking Ts&Cs, including festival season ticket information, by clicking here. Otherwise browse our ADULT EVENTS and FAMILY EVENTS to access our full programme information.
Please note, all children under the age of 8 must be accompanied at all times.
If you have a query about booking, or if you'd like to attend the festival but are unable to get yourself there, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll see what we can arrange for you.
